If you sign in to our website, for example to our affiliate area, WordPress and our website security service, Wordfence, set the following cookies:

• wordpress_test_cookie: checks that your browser accepts cookies when you open the sign-in page. Expires when you close your browser.

• wordpress_logged_in_[hash] and wordpress_sec_[hash]: keep you signed in securely. They expire when you close your browser, or after 14 days if you choose “Remember Me”.

• wp-settings-[user ID] and wp-settings-time-[user ID]: remember your display settings in the dashboard. Expire after 1 year.

• wfwaf-authcookie-[hash]: lets the Wordfence firewall recognize signed-in users and the level of access they have, so that it can protect restricted areas.

• wf_loginalerted_[hash]: set only if new-device sign-in alerts are switched on, so that the site administrator can be told when an account signs in from a new device.

• wfls-remembered-[hash]: set only if you use two-factor authentication and choose to have your browser remembered, so that you do not need to repeat two-factor authentication for up to 30 days.

Our security and content delivery provider, Cloudflare, may also set strictly necessary cookies, such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance, when it needs to check that a visitor is not an automated bot.

When we ask for your consent to other cookies, we also store your choices so that we do not need to ask you again on every visit. Our consent tool, Complianz, stores them on your device:

• cmplz_banner-status: records that you have answered the cookie banner. Expires after 1 year.

• cmplz_functional, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_statistics and cmplz_marketing: record your answer for each group of cookies. Expire after 1 year.

• cmplz_consented_services and cmplz_policy_id: record any individual service choices and which version of this policy you answered, so that we can ask again if it changes. Expire after 1 year.

• wp_consent_functional, wp_consent_preferences, wp_consent_statistics and wp_consent_marketing: pass your choices to other software on our website. Expire after 30 days.

Performance Cookies

Performance cookies help us understand how visitors use our website, for example which pages they visit and how they found us, so that we can improve it. These cookies use identifiers that can count as personal information.

We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, for this purpose. We only set these cookies after you agree, wherever you are, and you can change your choice at any time. Google Analytics sets the following cookies:

• _ga: distinguishes one visitor from another. Expires after 2 years.

• _ga_[ID]: keeps track of your visit session. Expires after 2 years.

Google processes this information as described in our Privacy Policy and in Google’s own privacy policy.

Marketing Cookies

We use advertising services to measure how well our advertising works and to show our ads to people who have visited our website. These cookies are only set after you agree to marketing cookies. If you do not agree, none of them are set.

LinkedIn Insight Tag, provided by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company for visitors in Europe, measures conversions and lets us reach people who visited our website.

• li_fat_id: an indirect identifier used for conversion tracking and retargeting. Expires after 30 days.

• li_giant: an indirect identifier for a group of members. Expires after 7 days.

• LinkedIn also sets cookies on linkedin.com, including bcookie (1 year), li_sugr (90 days), UserMatchHistory and AnalyticsSyncHistory (30 days), and lidc (24 hours).

Google Ads, provided by Google Ireland Limited for visitors in Europe, measures conversions and shows our ads on other websites.

• _gcl_au and the related _gcl_ cookies: record ad clicks that lead to an action on our website. Expire after 90 days.

• _gcl_ls: the same information, kept in your browser’s local storage.

• Google also sets cookies on doubleclick.net, including IDE (13 months in Europe and the UK, 24 months elsewhere) and test_cookie (15 minutes).

Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited for visitors in Europe, measures conversions and shows our ads on Facebook and Instagram.

• _fbp: identifies your browser. Expires after 90 days.

• _fbc: stores the click identifier from a Facebook or Instagram ad. Expires after 90 days.

• Meta also sets cookies on facebook.com, including fr (90 days).

These companies are separate controllers of the data they receive, and they may combine it with information they already hold about you. You can read what they do with it in their own policies, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising at youronlinechoices.eu and optout.aboutads.info.

Affiliate Referral Cookies

If you arrive on our website through an affiliate’s referral link, our affiliate software, AffiliateWP, sets cookies so that the affiliate can be credited if you later sign up or buy a subscription. We treat these cookies as essential to running our affiliate programme, so we set them without asking for your consent. They are only set if you arrive through a referral link, and we do not use them to track you on other websites.

• affwp_ref: stores the ID of the affiliate who referred you. Expires after 30 days.

• affwp_ref_visit_id: stores the ID of your referral visit. Expires after 30 days.

• affwp_campaign: stores the campaign name from the referral link, if there is one. Expires after 30 days.

Browser Storage and the Volleyora Extension

Our web application and Chrome extension also store information on your device using technologies similar to cookies. This storage is strictly necessary to provide the services you ask us to provide.

• Web application: keeps your sign-in session and interface preferences in your browser’s local storage until they are cleared, for example when you sign out or clear your browser data.

• Chrome extension: keeps its connection to your Volleyora account, your preferences, and your data-sharing choice in browser extension storage until you remove the extension.

• LinkedIn cookies: to work on LinkedIn, the extension reads LinkedIn’s own li_at and JSESSIONID cookies in your browser to check your LinkedIn session and send requests from your browser. It does not send these cookie values to our servers. LinkedIn sets and controls these cookies.

Third-Party Services

When you buy a subscription, the checkout is provided by Freemius, and Freemius and its payment partners may set their own cookies under their own policies. Our website loads its fonts from our own servers, so no font provider receives your IP address.

How Can You Control Our Website’s Use of Cookies?

Essential cookies, affiliate referral cookies and the browser storage described in this policy are set without asking for your consent, because we need them to run our website, our affiliate programme, and our application and extension.

We ask for your consent before setting analytics and marketing cookies. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. If you withdraw your consent, we stop using those cookies from that point on.

You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Each browser works differently, so check your browser’s help pages for instructions. If you block essential cookies or browser storage, parts of our website, application, or extension may not work. Removing the Volleyora extension from your browser deletes the information it keeps in extension storage.

We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
